Description

1.9.2 seems to be doing fine right now, but locally (on Mac OS X under RVM) it's proving to be flakey and segfaulting.

As I've updated my local box to 1.9.3 to avoid the segfaults, I'd like to update the production system as well for consistency between development and production environments.

I could optionally consider involving RVM in the update, but I think it's simplest just to install it at the system level for now (spin up a staging instance first to test it out).

When I move to the Amazon Linux AMI I will consider switching to RVM for my Rails app, so as not to clobber the system Ruby. I just want to be careful about it though, as RVM adds another moving piece and I'd prefer to keep the production system as simple as possible.

Sigh. Had to manually install libyaml from source as well, then rebuild Ruby.
