Description

From a user email: "Anyway, since iTunes 4.7, I am experiencing problems viewing album art. I have album art for all my music, but since iTunes 4.7, while playing about 80% of my songs (mainly MP3s), the Synergy floating window will show the default Synergy logo, even if that mp3 has album art associated with it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Synergy look to see if iTunes has album art first, then it searches Amazon? I notice that if I repeat the song, it will eventually display the art...maybe it grabbed it from Amazon?"

Interesting. Like you say, it looks like the art is being downloaded instead of pulled from iTunes. I can't reproduce this here, so maybe someone else can.

Suggestions/questions:

1. Are you using the latest version of Synergy? 2. Do you see the same problem when logged in to a different user account? 3. Where does the art appear on disk? (see below)

As of version 1.4, Synergy stores downloaded art at:

~/Library/Application Support/Album Covers/

And art from iTunes is temporarily cached (and deleted when you quit Synergy) at:

~/Library/Application Support/Temporary Album Covers/

So by looking in these two folders you can figure out where the art came from, the Internet or iTunes. You can also tell which art was obtained by version 1.4 and latter (it will have a .jpg extension) and which was obtained with version 1.3 and earlier (it will have a .tiff extension).

    To answer your questions:

    1) Yes, I am using Synergy 1.4 2) Seems to work OK with a differnt user 3) Synergy downloaded art saved at ~/Library/Application Support/Synergy/Album Covers/

All images contained in that folder have a .jpg extension.

Reinstalling Synergy seemed to have fixed the problem.

    Marking as CLOSED.
