I just reported this as http://wincent.dev/issues/672
It's no big deal, as I usually am letting itunes just play. the downside is that last.fm/audioscrobbler reporting stops.

I haven't looked at your report yet (will do that shortly) but I did find out something very interesting last night while reading the cocoa-dev mailing list. The cause of basically all the crashes in the 3.5 alpha (caused by NSAppleScript under Leopard's new Garbage Collection) turns out to be a known issue which Apple "intends to fix in an update".
Unfortunately they can't provide a timeline for this — although obviously I am hoping that it comes very soon — so my current recommendation is to go back to the stable 3.2 release which is feature-equivalent to 3.5, and most importantly, totally stable because it doesn't run under Garbage Collection.
